About UsThe Texas Ambulance Association is a concerned group of ambulance providers operating throughout Texas. We believe that an aggressive, ongoing program is necessary to protect the integrity of our profession. It is the TAA's philosophy that a continuing educational and proactive program is much more effective and important to ambulance providers than a reactive crisis-oriented approach.Our association was formed in the fall of 1981 for the purpose of fighting for a proposal from HCFA (now CMS) to provide reimbursement for ALS ambulance service. In early 1982, it became increasingly apparent that the crisis for which we had banded together was a continuing one and that other issues were set to confront us, such as the need for EMS legislation, continuing education and programs to increase awareness of the ambulance industry. Today the TAA provides a forum for private and public ambulance providers in the State of Texas to discuss issues, share information, and work cooperatively to improve the delivery of prehospital care to our customers.
