What is TAA?
The Texas Ambulance Association is a concerned group of ambulance providers
operating throughout Texas. We believe that an aggressive, ongoing program is necessary to protect the integrity of our profession. It is TAA's philosophy that
a continuing educational and protective program is much more effective and important
to ambulance providers than a reactive crisis-oriented approach. Our association was formed in the fall of 1981 for the purpose
of fighting for a proposal from HCFA (now CMS) to provide reimbursement
for ALS ambulance service. In early 1982,
it became increasingly apparent that the crisis for which we had banded together
was a continuing one and the other issues were set to confront us, such as the
need for EMS legislation, continuing education and programs to increase the awareness
to the ambulance industry.
Today the TAA provides a forum for private and public ambulance providers in the State of Texas to discuss issues, share information, and work
cooperatively to improve the delivery of prehospital care to our customers. The Texas Ambulance Ambulance Association has been actively
involved in addressing the issues important to all of its constituency,
including...
-
Sponsorship of seminars and updates on the Negotiated
Rulemaking process.
-
Lobbying for changes with the State Legislatures on topics
that impact the financial stability and efficient operation of the EMS system
in the State of Texas.
-
Providing its membership with current information on the
trends and changes in the arena of the EMS system.
